Is there a version of Swype for the Hero that is actually stable?

For OS 1.5 or 1.6. The one I have seems to crash everytime I do something that it doesn't like (which seems to be quite often). Do I have a bad copy, or does it just suck for the Hero?

My wife has 1.5 on her Droid Eris and Swipe for HVGA (different than the Moto Droid version) is 100% stable. If you don't have the HVGA version, go to the Droid Eris forum and search for Swype. There's a message there that tells you what to Google for to find the website that has the download.

There's also a topic in the Droid Eris forum called "Swype for Droid Eris" -- near the end of the discussion there's a barcode for the latest HVGA version that also has a very, very small footprint.

There are 2 others that I actually rate higher than swype anyway. Try ShapreWriter and SlideIt.
