Is there a way to set google talk as the default IM?

Basically I want to eliminate the extra step where when I click on "IM" it takes me to the "choose an account" screen, that has google talk, AIM, MSN & Yahoo. I personally only use google talk, and would love to have the phone always open up directly to that when I press on the IM icon.

Is there a way to do this?

I believe if you enter the Google talk and then press the home button(not the back arrow) it'll take you to the home screen but it'll also keep your place saved, thus when clicking the IM icon it'll take you back to the G'Talk.

Of course after running a few apps and multiple random things it might close the IM app since your not using it and so you'll have to go through the steps all over.

But I haven't found a way to make it always go there.

I just use Meebo instead, signs you into everything at once, so you just see a big list of your friends instead of choosing accounts. If you only use Gmail, then it would pretty much do exactly what you're asking for.
