Is there an all-in-one solution to music on Android?

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S and so far it seems like all music players and sync programs are a lot of hassle.
Music players get all confused over albums with tracks from different artists. Except for doubleTwist, they all seem to prefer separating the album to many mini-albums - each with a few tracks made by the same artists.
Syncing is a whole other issue. doubleTwist seem to not recognize my external SD card and syncs video files even when not asked to.
Kies is a mess, it crashed the first time I tried using it.
What do I do? I need a good all in one - music player with information editing and sync capabilities for Mac & PC's.

Am I really asking for the impossible?

Sounds like there is a problem with your tags to be honest, I have TuneWiki, WinAmp, and the stock player, and none of them exhibit the behaviour you're talking about.

WinAmp may be what you're looking for (I assume they have a Mac client, but don't know as I'm not a Mac user), you didn't mention which ones you'd tried though, so I may be recommending one you've already had a go with.

Unfortunately Winamp won't solve the OP's problems. It still does not handle compilation albums correctly and will see them as separate albums for each artist, even when the files are tagged correctly and in the same folder.

I like Winamp and that's what I use because it is free and still offers wireless syncing. There are a few minor idiosyncrasies (you can't delete music on your device from the computer client, usb syncing allows you to specify where music goes but wireless syncing always places folders in the root directory, etc.) but the app is only in beta so I'm hoping the developers are responsive to feedback. Winamp has a good long track record as a Windows application (I don't think there is a mac version).

Doubletwist is a paid app. but if it handles compilations correctly, I may have to switch.

fsc: doubleTwist is actually free, it's the AirSync that costs money.

NZtechfreak: do you have compilation albums on your device? if you do and you don't have my problems with those type of albums, how do you edit the tags for them?

I really hope doubleTwist will get a better version that will solve my problems. I don't mind paying a few bucks if it means everything will work properly.

I do have compilation albums, will check my tagging and see what I've done.

Have you tried the music player from the Motorola Defy? Its available as an APK at XDA-developers and is meant to be excellent. Perhaps it can handle your tags...
