Is there an app that effectively blocks Instant Message spam?

On occasion, I am getting spam Instant Messages.

Is there an Android program that allows you to create blacklists to stop these from being received?

I own CALL CONTROL, which is a great android app for blocking unwanted phone calls, but I don't believe it extends out to Instant Messaging.

Edit: Looking at the program description it does say that Call Control blocks unwanted texts, but I don't see a means of how to do it.

Well, Go SMS Pro has a "Add to blacklist" option when I long hold on a thread. I am not sure if it actually works or not since I never tried to add any of my threads to blacklist.

Blacklist is srandalone and free for calls and/or text
U can block a certain number or everyone thats not a contact for either txt n calls or both

Found out CALL CONTROL does indeed block spam text.

I paid a one-time $8 upgrade fee for the lifetime service that transfers over with each new phone you purchase.

Blacklist is free but probably isint as good
