Is there an app that turns on/off background data & auto sync?

I've tried auto sync on/off and synker though its not really what I want. I just want to be able to toggle the background data and auto-sync feature when I'm away rather than syncing on demand. When I'm not on the move, I turn off both background data and auto-sync but turn both on when I'm on the move. I notice in both those apps/widgets they do not turn on the background data and autosync feature rather than doing it all on demand.

Does anyone know an app for that or an app that can make a shortcut of that option in the settings for the sgs2?

There's a standard "power" widget that comes with Android. Just long-press your launcher screen, just widgets & power control.

Closest I've found is: Quick Sync Settings for Android | AppBrain.com but it only brings up the settings that you still have to manually activate. I have it on my homescreen, but am about to remove it, since any app that requires you to change this setting will pop up a link anyway, so may or may not save a button click.

Wow... I thought that came with all Android devices, since it can be found on my stock LG P500 as well as after upgrading to Cyanogenmod.

That thing at the top is what I mean: this widget allows you to turn all that stuff on or off.

Quick sync does not really solve the issue. Yeah, a custom shortcut is better. Elixir app is quite good though it does not have the custom shortcut

I discovered that if you turn off Background Data, that none of the "security" apps will be able to find your phone if it's lost or stolen (like Seekdroid, Lookout, Cerberus). I have Background Data off 95% of the time, but I do like the idea of finding a lost phone. Decided to turn of background sync in as many apps as I could and leave Background Data on... yes, still uses more battery than leaving it off (but not too bad). Trying to decide which I'd rather do, leave it off or get rid of Seekdroid....

Well, most of the time I'm at a pc working, so I have it turned off.

Quick Sync settings is close enough to what I wanted - while I'd have preferred a toggle widget without having to go into the menu, it still saves a lot of menu drilling, so unless I can find a toggle widget for that setting, I'm satisfied with this app.

Widgetsoid does it. Similar to the power widget but more customizable and you can add a whole lot of toggles.
