Is there an app to put a widget in your status bar?

CM 6.1 has support for a very-configurable power control widget in the status bar, but getting that on your phone is a bit more complicated than installing an app. If you're up for it, though, it's really easy to configure the widget.

Actually a few widgets will install in the status bar now, Widgetsoid does, so does Power Controls Plus, I don't know what functionality you want, but it can be done.

How does widgetsoid install on the status bar? I DL'd it but can't figure out how to get it up there. :)

If need be I'll pay for Power Controls Plus but since I just bought extended controls, I don't want to spend more $ on yet another toggle bar app.

K-Rizzle, I'm running out the door right now, when I get home I'll check and let you know. It's in the newest version, I do know that, and you may have to be rooted for it to work.

I don't know if or how to put a widget in your notification bar but I know that some apps do have that option. Currently I have batterytime and twidroyd in my notif. bar, pull it down, touch on it and it opens the widget.

I just DL'd extended controls and love it, but it'd be awesome to put this widget in my status bar to access it from anywhere. Is there such a thing?
Maybe look at Quick Settings? That gives you status bar access to what extended controls does.

Still, the toggles aren't actually in the status bar, but you pull status bar down, click on quick settings and you get a popup of all the toggles.

Well, I looked a bit more into extended controls, and you can go into settings and check off an option to put a shortcut into the status bar when you pull it down. You then click on it and it brings up a toast type notification that shows your self made power widget over whichever app you're using. So it actually works fine for what I need it for. :)

You can use Tasker to put a permanent notification in the taskbar/notification list, and assign a task to be performed when it is clicked (ie. launch an app or something else).

Is there a how to and would it be possible to get that on any phone?
I am running a rooted Milestone XT720 with Dexters Froyo, but I am really missing my CM and the power widget in the status bar (especially the widget)

Notification widgets are part of many custom ROMs, such as CM7.
I have them on Gingervillain ROM made for HTC Desire.
