Is there any player which supports idx/sub subtitles?

Is there any player which supports .idx and .sub (not srt. not sup)subtitles, whether stored as separate files or embedded in an mkv? Diceplayer and rockplayer don't.

Mvideoplayer plays idx/sub subtitles but doesn't play most avis and mkvs I have - I end up with a black screen and just the subtitles.

I searched a number of forums but couldn't find anything. Thanks!

Unfortunately it doesn't work with the files I have. I ripped them from dvds and blurays using dvdfab, vobsub and hdr stream extractor. Any suggestions would be more than welcome!

Actually, just for the record, the only ones I found are those on the Archos tablets, but I suspect they are optimised for the Archos hardware and wouldn't be easy to port to another phone/tablet.
