Help Is there anyway to update to 2.1 other than the pc companion and seus method?

To answer a question with a question, why do you need another way to do it? Are you having problems with your USB connector? If so then in order to update you will have to have this repaired as any large updates cannot be done over the air (OTA).

If you are having specific problems with the update programmes perhaps if you gave a bit more info then someone can try and help you out.

Let me be frank, i have a very slow connection, ie, a gprs connection. So, if i can download the 2.1 firmware from an internet cafe, i could get it to my home and flash it. (If there exist such a method; actually it's my question!)

Ah, I see your problem. The answer is that I don't think there is a way to download it to a removable storage device and then use your PC at home to run it. Can you beg/borrow the use of a friend or family members PC to run the update on that have good internet connection? I would be wary of running it on a poor connection because if it drops out half way through you could end up with a trickier job of getting the phone up and running again.

I did wonder about that tbh, but as I understand the process you still have to plug the phone in and let it run via SEUS but I am no expert on that side of things so maybe someone else can help on that. May be worth posting the direct question on the All Things Root Section here or even over at XDA developers.

Sorry not to have been more help :(
