Hi, I would like to setup up my phone in a way that when i push my home button the first thing i see is my calendar app full screen , not widget. ie: hit home button 1#: calender app open, hit home button 2#: upen home screen. I like to have my calendar full screen all the time. is there a an app that can help me acomplish this.

Thank you

I haven't seen anything except modding a rooted version of the OS that would even come close to what you want and I doubt that you would get any further than getting it to show the calendar on tap without some very customized reprogramming. You could add the calendar app to your homescreen app bar. There are also some apps out there that add a "fly-out" menu that will pop out while in any app, which would allow you to have the calendar app close to readily available. Sorry, but I can't recall any app names.

Launcher apps such as Launcher Pro can control the behavior of the home button.

But to achieve your goal you would need to find a launcher developer who would customize behavior in the manner you suggest, or find an open source launcher and modify it yourself. Sounds like a lot of work ...

As jae_63 posted above, third party launchers have this function.
I use Nova Prime, and it has the option of changing what the home key will launch (along with a ton of other options).

Home2Shortcut will allow you to do some customization of the Home button, but a single press will only go to the launcher you specify. You can program the double-press action.

Yes, but that's limited to when you're already viewing your homescreen. If you were in an app, the home button would do what it's supposed to in taking you to the homescreen, then an additional press triggers the customized option.

OP, have you considered running a replacement LOCKscreen, and putting a calendar widget on to it? I know you aren't looking for widgets, but at least this way you'll see it every time you turn on your device....
