Is there Global Search within Android?

If I have say 1200 Customers within my contacts, can I search by name, company or phone number?

I can only do a search within the stock dialer of what ever is in the name filed ... I can not search on a specific phone number..

Not as far as I know ... unless you put the name and company in the same field as name .... the stock dialer does not have a field for Name and another for Company ....

The new google search in 1.6 is pretty good from my initial test ... pulled up contact listings as well ... I list Companies in the name filed as i dont have a company field ... so dont know if it will work for search on a company field with the phones contacts ..??

I am able to use the New to be 1.6 google search and other features because of my rooted Build ...and the great advances in ROMs by Cyanogen ...
