Is there something better than evernote?

[MoreThanThis]

I love Evernote, but I found out that you only have limited storage and you can't download unless you buy the premium membership for $45 a year. Is there an alternative that is actually free or at least has a one-time payment?

I use it for random notes, lists, and journal.

I dumped Evernote for Google Keep. Free in Play Store

I've been using Google keep, as well.

yep, I too like Keep for the same reason.. simple notes and tied to my google account

SpringPad has all of Evernote's features but completely free. Keep is good, but I found it's lacking in terms of organization.

I got tired of Evernote's desktop app and switched to SpringPad.

I like GNotes.

Those 'Keep' users, can you direct me some good video tutorials? I am just too dumb to be able to use it intuitively.

Is there any reason Evernote needs a freaking update almost every day? It's a NOTE app, ugh.
