Is this considered tethering?

I have the SGCentura tracfone. I am considering a car that uses BringGo for navigation. It looks to me like maps and traffic are downloaded to the cell phone. The cellphone interfaces with the screen in the car. The cell phone must act as a GPS?

Perhaps I didn't do the best job of explanation as to how this works, but perhaps someone here can advise whether or not such activity would be considered tethering. Thanks

No, I don't think so. The app is sharing specific content over the car's infotainment system. It isn't granting straight up internet access ala a hotspot.

I took a peak at their site, they make no mention of tethering being required, just that data would be used (obviously) and that leaving GPS on will impact battery life.
