Is this gonna be legit..?

Don't hold your breath on the s2. Most carriers would have to spend time and money on last years phone after doing jellybean.

Low end may not mean older. I use an s2 and it does not seem older to me so we will need to see.

Our sources left us with some more info regarding the OS. Android 5.0 will be an optimized OS and will run well even on devices with 512 MB of RAM. The last time that happened, we were in 2010 running Gingerbread (Android 2.3). Perhaps this is Google

I can see a whole slew of phones getting KLP, either by the carrier or by a team.as for the t989, I don't see T-Mobile or telus making a KLP ROM for it.it seems our only hope is CM, AOKP, AOSP and MIUI.

Hopefully, if the S2 is updated to KLP, it won't make the battery life even worse. Seems like the battery life gets slightly worse with each version of android (battery life was the best for this phone when it was on gingerbread). I've tried buying a new battery and it didn't help much. I'm looking to upgrade to the S4 in a couple months anyway.

That site also mentioned the moto x being launched along with 5.0, with 4.3 coming in late august.

They were wrong on all of the above.

Its entirely possible the next iteration of android is optimized for lower speccd devices, but if you are in the US... your carrier is the one that will decide whether or not you get an update, and they'd much rather just have you buy a newer device.

Got that right. Most places once the device is off the shelf they act like they never heard of it before. I think Samsung and t-mobile have been incredibly generous with the 2 major updates they released for the S2. Do I want more? sure, but I'm not holding my breath or anything. ;)
