Is this handset still experiencing problems?

I've had my eye on the One X for quite a while, right back when it was just a rumour! The only reason I didn't take the plunge as soon as it was released was because of all the horror stories. Every device has teething problems but I was curious whether the device is still suffering with problems ranging from build quality to WiFi signal, lagging, freezing etc.

I'm in the UK and on T-Mobile if there are any area or network specific problems.

Where did you see these horror stories?

Forums like this will generally be full of problems because people mostly come to forums like this for help rather than to say how great the phone is.

Personally I haven't had one issue with my phone but obviously people have. Naff phones happen and so do teething problems but HTC has released a lot of updates since the phone was released which has fixed a lot of the problems.

Don't you get 14 days to try a phone anyway?

I've had my One X for about a month now. No lag, no wifi problems and I believe it shut down once when I had a low battery. Other then that this phone has been perfect.

I think you get between 7 and 30 days to try a phone depending on where you get it from.

The "horror stories" have been all over the internet. However, like you said, I'm fully aware of the fact they may be blown out of proportion and/or common place on Android and HTC websites as people vent their frustration and seek help.

Cheers mate. Glad to hear it. Do you mind me asking what network you're on?

Hi,

Had my One X for a few months now. A Month or so back I started having a battery drain issue that started immediately after I dropped it but strangely after a week it was ok again.
Other than that it has been flawless. I have not had any problems with it at all.
Got no regrets and am totally happy with it.

About 3 months, also on T-Mobile. No real issues. Sense is a bit of a memory hog, so get occasional loading screens, and also it closes background apps quite quickly - but no hardware issues. WiFi, calls and battery all fine.

Going to keep it stock for a few months more - supposed to be a 4.0.4 update coming out in the next couple of weeks which is supposed to fine tune performance, and also keen to get stock jb.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm considering upgrading and going through Carphone Warehouse or another retailer who supply unbranded handsets. I don't fancy the bloatware and waiting for T-Mobile to release the firmware updates.

in my opinion every phone thats released u will hear horror stories, even the sg3 has issues, mines fine tho had it two months battery settled down too.

its all up to choice but it is scary thinking have i got the right phone for the next 2 years!!

There's an update for the at&t version bringing it to 4.0.4

Hi mate I'm on T-mobile with a contract One X... never had a problem with it it's such a quality phone in every way... From what I see a lot of the problems tend to be on the 4g version through the american carriers, they actually seem to do stuff to the phone. Mine isn't even T-M branded, could put any sim card in it.

If/When you get it just make sure to update as the first day I had it the battery was crap, the second day was when they released the first of 2 firmware upgrades which made the phone the best phone I've ever had. I'm not one for sticking with one brand but from now on I'll definitely be looking at what HTC have coming out when my contract is up for renewal.
