Is this kernal file a Zip or a tar file????

okay guys I am trying to root my mobile phone. I have downloaded all the necessary stuff.

However I am findining it difficult to understand what is a tar file. I have downloaded an insecure kernal for the root process.

It comes in a zip style file. When I extract it , a small file called zmlage only gets extracted.

However when I click on the 'zip type file' which I downlaoded . it shoes as tar when I check proterties.

Do i need to extract this file or not once downloaded?

It sounds as though you have extracted too far shocksl.
