Root Is this ok?

After waiting for the GB update I have decided to root, the only "problem" I might have is that when I double clicked the unrevoked file it did`nt give me any options it just started to install, while it was installing I had the message "recovery image:ClockworkMod RFecovery",is this ok....

Dunno. Did you use my guide here which helps you identify erase size? The erase size is most likely 20,000 but if it's not, clockworkmod wont be of any use to you.

If you didnt read my guide linked in the "all about rooting" sticky thread, you should check it out.

I followed the guide and downloaded the terminal emulator but when I put in the "cat /proc/mtd" and press enter, nothing came up,I went ahead anyway and I have now got the superuser icon, and at the moment I am backingup using Titainium backup. Is this correct?.

You still need to.find the erase size unless you are not pvt4. You can do.it with the same command in adb shell. You just have to set.pc up as per adb and fastboot faq

I`m sorry but can you explain in noobie terms what the above mean`s?, last year I did the move more apps to sd card using the Williamj1 method.

My settings are:
HBoot Version 0.93 0001
PVT 1 Ship s on

Thanks

your ok then, with those settings. It's only pvt4 that's the problem. Start phone again from power off. Volume down and power. Should take you to clockwork recovery (black screens/green writing). If it does everything is hunky dory.

I'd recommend before doing anything else, do a full nandroid backup in CWM. If anything goes wrong, you can restore it and get back to where you were.
