Is this phone really this crappy? Nobody can hear me.

I am having an issue where nobody can hear me on the other end of the phone unless i put on Speakerphone. Is is something that is fixable at home or does it need to go into ZTE for repair. I have only had the phone for 4 months and don't believe it got wet or damaged.

Some phones have two microphones, maybe one of the microphone on your device is malfunctioning. When you activate the loud speaker, the other microphone kicks in to help reducing ambient noise.

My microphone doesn't work either. Even on speaker. On WiFi not at all. I've heard it was the headwear and that if I changed my os to CM10 jelly bean it would work again. Someone else had the same problem but to do that I have to root the phone and I haven't been able to figure that out

If it was a hardware problem how would changing ROM help? Surely it's only if it's a software problem that that might fix it.

My bad that's what I meant. I'm new to this whole Rom and shut. Honestly didn't even no I could tap the sw in about phone to make the developer options pop up

In that case the answer is simple.. Don't mess about with software fixes its one for ZTE to fix under warranty.

Kingroot will almost let me root it but there's some kind of apb program or adb program pops up under access permissions. It said success phone is rooted but then it wasn't. I don't know has to find that adp program anywhere In my phone

Never heard of "apb" (outside of US cop shows ;)). "ADB" is Android Debug Bridge, i.e. USB debugging.

But to flash a ROM you need a custom recovery: have you found one of those that's built for your phone yet (you can't use one built for a different phone)? Unless you know you can find one and how to install then I don't think kingroot will help.

I called ZTE I'm just gonna email them my phone cause I don't know how to do any of that. I already can't talk on it.. I still like to use it for the WiFi tho. I just have a lil cheap phone I use for calls. I'm not gonna pay a bill to not be able to talk. I've got WiFi at the house
