Is this still the cheapest way to get an android tablet

Hello - I have purchased Nook Color tablets for my Daughters about a year or so ago. I've rooted them with CM7 on SD card, not internal memory. This works fine for them. They watch Netflix, use Facebook, browse the web and use the kindle app for books.

I'm looking for an iPad Mini myself for all the features I need, but I'm not ready to pull the trigger. But I did want to start reading some books and use a tablet to do some reading and browsing while at the coffee table, etc - instead of using my phone.

Is this still the cheapest, not necessarily the best option to go if I'm just looking to have an unrestricted Android tablet to read books, surf, etc until I pick up my iPad Mini?

Any help or suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

It is not unrestricted as you cannot access the Google Play store for downloading apps. Mine is unrooted though.

Hi. No I did not root it since I am still under the one year warranty. From my research, I would take the Nook Tablet over the Nook Color. If I could do it over again, I would have spent an extra 40 dollars and picked up a tablet from Samsung for a better Android experience though.

They make Nooks in HD versions now I noticed over at Barnes & Noble.
