Hey all

I got this problem with my phone and don't know if it is the phone or software problem

Problems

1. "No Sim Card in Phone" , It showing this msg when i want to use the phone and it shows the sim card icon with an x on the notification bar as well, I can make and receive calls, I was told to fix this problem
- Turn off the phone
- Take out the battery
- Wait for a few minute
And put it all back and it will be fix, Well it does fix the problem but after the few hours the msg comes back
Do i have to do this every time i see the msg ?

And yes i have put in the sim card in probably

I have change new sim card twice and the problem is still there

I have sent the phone back to Sony Ericsson / Phone provider to repair , The test result was that nothing was wrong with the phone

The sim card problem happen when i upgraded the software from 1.6 to 2.1

So is this the phone or software problem , Need ya help

Thanks

P.S Will downgrading the software fix the problem ?

On the Sim card thing, when I first got my X10 the phone wasn't recognising my sim so T Mobile UK told me to take it out and very gently bend it to ensure that the contacts were making a good connection. I was a bit scared of doing this but I thought hey ho you've told me to I guess you can always replace it - so I did and I haven't looked back since.

Are you sure its the memory card symbol that is coming and going and not the sim card one cos that would also tie in with the other problems too.

Yeah i think it is the sim card icon not the memory card icon

I have change a new sim card but the problem is still there , I havn't tried the bending method , Does it work ?

Worked for me, I was majorly sceptical. Thought oh here we go fobbing me off with some BS answer but hey, you can only try. I got my phone last June and haven't had a problem with the sim since then.

Should have put a piece of paper / folded paper behind the sim...saves bending and possibky damaging it

Well bending the sim card didn't work , And i change a new sim card again , 2 times and still the problem is still there

I reinstall 2.1 firmware and it didn't work

Any one can help me ?

I think you need to send your phone back in and kick up a stink. It's clearly not working properly and you have tried all the obvious things so don't know what else to suggest.
