Second tablet (first was an iPad 1), first Android device. I have to see, I’m really impressed by the Nexus 7... the size, price and OS are perfect for what I need it for. The iPad was a great device, but it’s too closed for me.

What I want from a tablet is something between my MacBook Pro and my iPhone – the mobility of the latter and the customisability of the former. The iPad just didn’t have that, but the Nexus 7 totally does.

The N7 is my 2nd android tablet. I already own a Samsung Tab 10.1 (the original).

N7 - better screen (nice and clear). Faster - everything is very responsive.

Tab 10.1 Obviously bigger, but it gets slow and can be a pain sometimes, but i love the screen size. I like to read magazines from Zinio - and the N7 is just too small for that. Reading a book is great on either device.

I love the size of the N7, it feels good in hand, but reading a magazine on a plane just doesn't cut it. Web browsing is also better on the 10.1.

When (if) the 10.1 gets the ICS update, I'll be 100% happy with it (probably).

I've had a rooted Nook Color for quite awhile and I have loved it. Running Mirage Kang and oc'd to 1200. It's pretty much idiot proof and impossible to break - important qualities for my learning tablet.

The micro usb housing has been having issues, haven't been able to connect to the pc for months and it will only charge when turned off after it has been plugged into the charger.

When I saw the specs/price of the N7 I knew I had to have one as a successor to my valiant but fading NC. Now I'm fighting the urge to install a custom rom on a device that is already running the most up to date android. Decisions, decisions....

This is my first tablet. I've had an LG Optimus Android smartphone for about a year and am happy with it other than the small screen is hard on my old eyes. I'm getting tired of lugging my laptop around and wanted something smaller but still easy to see. I couldn't ignore all the positive reviews I've been reading about the N7 and finally caved in yesterday. Walmart had two in stock. Ran over and grabbed a 16gb version. I've already spent about 6 hours playing with it. Aside from stupidly deleting the home screen (which I'll be posting for help on) I'm completely in love with it with no buyer remorse so far. Great display quality, super fast response and screaming WIFI performance. Like everyone else I wish it had SD card capability but between Dropbox and Google Drive I doubt I'll need much more space than that for what I will use the unit for.

For your homescreen I assume you are talking about the media widget that showed movies, books, music etc. on the home screen. If so, you can go into your app drawer and at the top of the screen you will see a tab for widgets. Add it back from there. I don't have my N7 with me at the moment or I would give you the name of the widget, but I know I saw it there.

You're right. In my post on the subject I learned the widget name is "My Library". All is well now. Man, you guys are FAST to respond! Thanks!

I figured why wait for a whole other thread. I see you got the answer over there too. You'll find that there are a lot of omnipresent helpful folks here.

Second tablet for me. First was a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Plus. That thing was awful. Screen was subpar, system was laggy, and things that should have been cool additions (the IR remote) ended up being a hassle due to poor implementation on the software side. Samsung was slow to update to ICS and I sold it the day before the N7 launched thinking I just didn't need a tablet. Heard about the N7 the next day and ordered it immediately.

The Nexus is now one of 3 tablets in our house. Wife got an iPad from her parents for birthday/masters degree celebration and then her school also gave her one as a teaching tool. The N7 is by far my favorite and the wife likes it as well due to its 7" form factor.

This is my 4th android device. Started with my Droid X. Then picked up a Transformer Pad 300. Updated Droid X to a Galaxy S3 (Love it, by the way). But my Transformer just didn't work for me since it was so heavy. I liked the big screen but holding it was a pain. So it went back and I got the Nexus 7. And like my S3, I love it. Light enough to hold and yet enough screen room to view easily.

I have a Galaxy Tab 10.1 and am loving the size and form factor of the Nexus. Its so easy to carry around and will even fit in a back pocket with the stock case(though I dont do that very often).

This is the third tablet we've owned, though I also have extensive use of a few others. I started things off with the awful abomination Viewsonic gTablet. It was a woot impulse buy, one that I deeply regret. Unstable, poor hardware design and a proprietary interface (tap n tap) that had to be removed just to make the device usable. I had a iPad2 and iPad (3) for ~ 2 weeks each to try them out. I was never an Apple fan, and I've grown more and more negative about them as they've gone down their litigious path to domination so I'm not the most neutral of reviewers. Still, I expected so much more considering the hype. Nice looking screens and great app selection, but where's the magic everyone goes on about? Too heavy for its intended use and too big to use as an ereader. I found myself always lookeing for a place to rest or prop up the thing. The 4:3 screen means that when playing anything but 4:3 content, the viewing size is not much bigger than a 7" tablet, but it does have wonderful black bars. Though a far batter product, in a way I was more disappointed with the iPad than the gTablet. I was able to use a rooted Nook Color for a few days and was impressed with what the dev community was able to accomplish. I immediately went and bought the newly released Nook Tablet. Faster, brighter with better battery life! What could be wrong? Locked bootloader! The dev community never took a liking to the NT and you have to make a choice between >a< stable 2.3 ROM with tons of B&N induced quirks (fonts, formatting, white on white menu's, etc) or unstable incomplete CM alpha builds. Ughhhhh! Finally, I bought a N7 and so far it seems to be what I have been looking for in a tablet. Price, size, speed and screen are all solid. It's that bigger screen that fits between my phone and laptop. I've had it 3 days, and haven't felt the need to root it. That speaks volumes! I will root it eventually for the heck of it if nothing else, but I don't need to to make it function properly.

Got it today, so far no issues.

I do notice a slight drag on google chrome when I am on Tumblr (usig wifi), I figure it's because the site is picture heavy.

Other than that, it's an amazing little tablet.

This is my first Android device. I have a new iPad and just purchased a Nexus 7. I'm loving it, and trying to discover what can I do with it that I can't do on iPad. :)

My first "android" tablet. I have had all 3 of the iPads and still have my iPad 3. I wanted to try an android tablet as I love my android phones. I bought it for a work tool as I can do my weekly time sheets and billing via excel spreadsheets. So far I like it.

Three Android phones and my third Android tab.

First was the original Samsung Galaxy Tab 7", which has been used daily since I got it. Next was the Transformer 101, which is great but has essentially become the wife's PC.

I thought the Tab 7" needed a speed boost, so I got the N7, which certainly knocks the spots of Tab 7" in terms of performance, but I really do miss the connectivity of the Tab 7" (3G, microSD, TV out etc.) so I'm keeping it as the "workhorse" device, and using the N7 as the hobby device (though I may well give it to my nephew).
