is underclocking dangerous?

I am just curious... I know if I do it too extensively, underclocking can slow my phone down, but is it dangerous to the processor at all or any other hardware?

I don't think it can do any harm but you may encounter erratic behavior and freezes on the phone if you take things down too far. They'll be a minimum level where functionality and usage need to be maintained for the system. Unless you want to save a bit of battery power on a dual core handset or better, it's not that useful if you want to continue using your device as a smartphone on demand.

i got a Coby Kyros MID7015 cheapie that i keep underclocked for battery life...slow and laggy is the only harm you get. nothing brick-worthy.
