Help Issue On Recovery Mode.

Hi. when I boot my rooted android to recovery mode with the aim of installing JBED zip file, I'm scrolling down using volume down button and trying to select install from SD Card, Once I locate this zip file and try to select it using power button, nothing happens that I don't see it installing. I don't know why.Please advise.

Do you have a custom recovery, like CWM or TWRP? You can only install official updates with a stock recovery. Being rooted has nothing with installing custom ROMs.

custom recovery? No I don't have such an App installed on my phone. Kindly let me know more about a custom recovery and the STEPS I can use it to install the zip file.

Kindly also suggest the suitable recovery for my Tecno M3 Android version 4.2.2. as I don't know if it can harm the phone.
