Help Issue with blocking contacts

Hello! I wish to block a number for both texts and calls but unfortunately my brand new Lenovo K5 smartphone doesn't come with a block feature (which is unbelievable, but heh). I have Android 5.1 on it, and because of that I need an app to block numbers, but I also have to switch the app to the default text app instead of normal messaging if i want it to block texts, and it bothers me a bit.

Is there no way for me to block incoming texts from someone with such an app without having to make it my default texting app?

Textra has that option, just choose blacklist in the messages you want to block. Truecaller for calls

I was asking for an app to block messages without having to make it the default app, but nevermind that and thanks for the tip, I actually love the Textra app and its customizations
