Help Issue with PDF Files (on SD Card)

I recently got a Galaxy Note 3 (had a Galaxy S4 previously). Something strange that's happening that I noticed recently.

I open up PDF files going through the My Files section, open the PDF (which are saved on my microSD card) and when I highlight, I get a pop-up that says "This is a read-only document. Save a duplicate file to continue editing?" and the options are "View Read-Only" or "Save."

I've never had this happen before on my Galaxy s4 and don't recall this being an issue with Adobe before either.

Has anyone had this issue and what can I do to not have to save a duplicate file and just highlight as normal?

In order to verify whether your problem resulted from SD card or PDF file itself, you may copy another normal PDF file to your SD card, and then try to open it. If it does not work fine yet, I think you perhaps need to format your SD card to get rid off the problem. Good luck to you.
