Issue with screen repair

I replaced the screen and since then when I try to boot the device I get to a screen that says powered by android and then after it bypasses that screen the screen goes completely dark and afterwords once it has finished booting up I can use the buttons and it has sound(my alarm went off) and the screen just remains black like it is powered off and I have taken it apart and put it back together a few times to make sure that everything is connected and have seen multiple youtube videos and when I attempt to do a fastboot it gets stuck on the fastboot mode screen with the oneplus logo and just says on that and never seems to finish

Can you boot into recovery with the new screen?

I can't because it's accessible through fastboot I believe and when I attempt to launch that it appears to go into a loop where it only displays a screen that says fastboot
