Help Issue with streaming. Please help.

Hi all.

Phone worked well for about a month and then started losing functionality with certain apps that stream content (Pandora, YouTube, Stitched, NPR, you name it). Nothing works. On all programs I normally get an error stating connectivity issues to server, please try again. I've tried all the tips I could find online , including:

- Clearing caches
- restarting
- I don't have adblocker
- uninstall/reinstall
- trying Wi-Fi vs. 4g
- making sure WiFi proxy was set to "none" instead of manual
- ran clean sweeper

Nothing works and I'll eventually offload this awesome phone if I can't figure it out.

Please help!

Why don't you try to factory reset the phone? If you take it back that's the first thing they are going to ask. Sounds like you did something to break the link to stream. Could have been an app or something you did on your own.

I'm hoping the hard reset is a last ditch effort. The amount of redoing things after that sounds very unappealing right now.

This issue seems to be widespread. Just google "connection to server lost touch to retry" and see all the android users that are struggling with this. Not fun.

Thread cleaned. No need to bicker, personal attacks will not be tolerated. Period.

@ Midrover, I believe Tlicious is correct in that Sprint will perform a factory reset if you take it in. I understand it's not a preferable option, but there are ways of saving your info before you perform one. It's the equivalent of tech support automatically asking you to reboot the computer when you call in, even if the tower is engulfed in flames.

Just to check something, go under Settings / System Updates / Select "Update PRL" let it do it's thing. Once it's completed, go under the same menu and select "Update Profile" again let it do it's thing. See if updating those make any difference. If not, give Sprint customer service a call and see if they'll re-provision the phone from their end.

Well, since that was the only advice I was getting, I went ahead and reset the phone (I'm on Verizon by the way).

I've read that people struggling with this find that the reset works, but after three to four weeks they lose the ability to stream again. I guess I'll see what happens and report on the issue. Wish I caught your advice a few minutes earlier, Granite, so I could have tried that. Thanks anyway though.

No worries, I hope it fixes it permanently. :)

I've been streaming music from mine on Sprint, and it hasn't done this to me. I wonder if it has something to do with Verizon's network?

I looked around for a while, and found a lot of issues with Youtube, but I never found any solid solutions for any of the issues I found. :o

If it does it again, I would escalate the issue with Verizon CS.
