Help Issues with Contacts After Update

I have S -5, Today Morning I got update to Android Version 5. After the installation everything else seems ok but the contacts. The device is not displaying contacts. When I open the contacts, it is constantly showing message on screen "Contact list is being updated" . Android version 5 was updated about 6 hours ago. Even after that much long time, there is same message on the screen.

Contacts are synced with my Google Contacts, Skype, Viber, WhatsApp and Facebook (which I removed just today). Have tried to re-sync but nothing seems to work. Even the Logs are not showing.

Can someone help me out

no one is there to guide me to resolve my problem..
Kindly advise, or else I won't have any option with me but to purchase a new handset.

Bugs often pop up with major updates.
I always factory reset my devices after a major upgrade. May not be what you wanna hear, buts it is all I got.

Make sure the contacts are backed up to your Google account first.

Also try clearing cache from recovery, that might save you a factory reset.

My handset is on Sync with my google contacts.
