Help Issues with Maxx

I have had my Maxx since Thursday. While I love the phone I am having some issues and wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing them. The phone will go blank on me..even if I am in the middle of doing something and no matter how long I have the screen timeout set for. Then its a pain to get the screen to come back...I have to push and repush the power button numerous times. Also when in a call and the screen "turns" off it wont respond to touch so I can end the call. I think there is something wrong with the phone..maybe the power button itself. Anyone else having similar issues?

***Update*** I took mine back to the store, they agreed it was "broken". Exchanged it and now all is well. For the time being anyway :D
 
I'm not having your issues, just tried the 'use the home phone to call myself' and it worked perfectly. However, I am having my own round of issues as stated in my thread also located in this forum.

It's nice to know whatever other issues other people are having.
 
Hmmm..Im thinking maybe there are some manufacturing issues with the Maxx. Im going to take mine back to the store and see what they say. It's driving me bonkers.
 
Yea looks like I'm going to do the same as well. Ughh I don't want to because they are always really stupid lol

As a former Bionic and Razr owner I will tell you all it sounds like the Black Screen of Death...most of us Bionic owners dealt with it, and seemed to follow over to the Razr. Looks like it made its way over to the Maxx as well.

Screen just goes pitch black...very annoying.
 
The only issue I've had so far (had it for 2 days) is sometimes when I use Advanced Task Killer, after opening it up and clearing running programs, then going back to home screen - the shortcut where my ATK was turns into something else... Settings, Gmail.. etc.. It's happened about 3 times so far.

You might un-install and re-install that app or better yet, just leave it un-installed as you don't need it. It has been found that task killers cause more problems than they fix so they say. I have never installed one so I don't know first hand. I was just told by the Pro's not to use one.

This ^ (for the only Maxx owner I know) worked. She was crestfallen when the blackouts on the screen started happening ("after all the hype about this thing!" she screamed :D).

Then she saw the issue and remedy brought up in a forum and hasn't seen the blackout since. No more screaming. I'm really glad. :D

Android hates task killers. Uninstall that crap.

I have been having the same problem since I got it. I'm taking it back before my trial period is up.

Thank you for letting me know it's not just me.
 
Did you see about turning off pocket detection? Try that, I bet it will cure the "black screen"
