I think this is in the wrong category but I can't find a suitable one for my i5700, and this seemed the closest one.
I recently installed z4root on my Samsung Galaxy Portal i5700 after reading elsewhere (I don't remember the site) that this could now be rooted using the software. and it can.
The only issue is that after the program restarts the phone, no program manages to accquire super user access (I have superuser installed with z4root) and the unroot option isn't there when I open z4root up. Originally I'd assumed the rooting had failed so I got Universal Androot to try that, but when I run it, I'm told my device is already rooted so why won't it work like that. I've tried re-rooting it with Androot regardless but the app force closes, and it also does this when trying to unroot.
Has anyone any idea how I can get the root working, as well as having the option to unroot back in either or the programs. I'm running Android 2.1.
