Root It this normal after unlocking the bootloader?

So I'm pretty sure I've successfully unlocked my bootloader but as soon as I completed the 12th & last step my phone rebooted, which I thought was normal. When I went to check to see if I had indeed done so I found that when I pull & reinstall the battery the phone immediately starts up without any buttons being pressed. Once the bootloader is unlocked is there now a different way to get into the bootloader since I can no longer do so by holding down the vol down & power buttons?

Hmm weird. It's weird that it works that way. Why does unlocking the bootloader change the way that works? I can't think of a reason why it would be necessary.

Thanks regardless! Just confirmed I'm unlocked. On to getting recovery.
