I have a Samsung galaxy ace with Vodafone. It had the start up screen but will not load up any more than the Samsung name. Someone help me.

Hopefully, that's just the ticket for you even if your situation is slightly different. It's my hope and belief that there may be a factory reset type of option upon entering recovery. Welcome to Android Forums and good luck!
