Help iTagCache files on SD Card

Hi all. I'm having an issue where 100's of files are appearing in the root of the internal SD Card called iTagCache14255230 etc. It happened on my S3 recently and is now happening on my new S5 so it must be an installed app.
Does anyone know what they are? It's really annoying.

I did a Google search, that is the first place I go to find answers.
this link turned up right away:

in that link is this blurb:
handcent/iTagCache/


so, that sort of makes me think it is related to Handcent. I do not use that app, it is turned OFF

Hmm I did find that link but I'm not sure what handcent is. There is a folder called iTagCache on my internal SD Card but it's empty and these files are just appearing in the SD Card root. Most annoying.

Well I deleted them all and so far they haven't come back and I've not had any issues so I'll keep an eye on it.
