It's dead in here i think I will take it back and get a galaxy.
Everything is try to do with this it wants to control everything.
I can't even send anything blue tooth if it's a apk or some kind of program. To much problems. I bought it so if I want to store something on it then it's my business. If I wanted to be controlled I would have gotten an i-pad

Thanks for your replies I really appreciate it but I think I'm going to take it back and invest in a galaxy note. Sorry for venting earlier.
I wish you the best with your transformer. :)

I just flashed Cromi and can't see what the attraction is. It's not uber customizable like AOKP or CM or most of the Galaxy Nexus roms I've tried. Is most of the attraction an increase in performance? I haven't used it enough to have noticed a problem before or an improvement after.

Or do I have to flash some mods to see the attraction. :D

It's for the performance. The stock rom is littered io deficiencies that causes incredible amounts of lag when multitasking or if the tablet runs for a long time without resetting. Cromi helps reduce the impact of these deficiencies to make the user experience better and less frustrating.

Agreed, it's the just stock ROM on steroids. You should especially notice a difference in speed on the the stock browser (or you would have had you used the tablet as stock more). However if customizations are what you're after you will be disappointed.
I'm odd (I'm often told), for my phone I like ROMs with lots of customizations, for my tablet I just want it to work well. I tried CM10 on my tablet and wasn't really impressed with it (mostly annoyed by the placement of the softkeys as I recall), so I went back to CROMI-X.

I'm going to give CM10 or Baked a try just because of the stock look and feel of CromiX. It sounds like most people are settling for CromiX due to lack of fully functional/stable AOSP/AOKP/AOSPA options. Baked looked promising but they dropped development back in Feb it seems.

I haven't tried AOSP roms on the tf700, but how functional is they keyboard and it's ports (USB/standard SD) on them? Does it retain USB host mode to add wireless mice, gaming controllers, and external hard drives?

I'd love to answer, but I get error messages every time I try to flash one of the CM10.1 nightlies. I did successfully flash Baked but I got an error message when flashing gapps.

Sticking with CROMiX for now.

I flashed the CM10.1 nightly from a couple days back with the 2013 gApps and no errors. You do have to wipe data when you switch roms and I might have also flashed system, although that's not normally a requirement.

Performance sucked until I realized I had underclocked the max by 2 clicks, then I wished I could go two more. Makes me wonder what tweaks I can run to speed it up a bit. I used to run a terminal script that tweaked everything a couple years ago.

Battery lasted all day, which was great news, but if I had used just the tablet (no dock), I would have been less impressed.

Funny - I just can't get any of the CM10.1 nightlies, stable, etc. to flash. I keep getting "Cannot open zip." Everywhere on XDA it says you can flash with TWRP no problems (but I have tried CWMR), no dice. Can't even flash GAPPS.

But somehow I was able to flash the most recent Baked with inverted GAPPS. Running it now. Still laggy but I like it better than Cromi.

I was on CWM 10.1 for a few weeks and didn't realize how slow it was until I restored my CROMI-X. I'm on TWRP 2.5.0.0.

Can you open these zips on your computer? If not, they might be corrupt. Goo's servers were having issues a few days ago.

Yup. Bad downloads......four in a row. Just flashed stable last night and it seems a little less laggy than Baked right away. I might give the newest Cromix a try in a week or so. Just want to see how this thing runs on stock and area other kernels

One problem with CROM-X is there are a LOT of options you have to answer when installing it. And if you assume you already have an app installed so neglect to install it, you might end up without it (like Adblock). As always, a nandroid and backing up your apps with TIBU is recommended.

Speaking of "it's dead in here", maybe someone should start a couple topics for discussion of CROM-X, CM10.1, Baked, etc to get the discussion going. :D

New PAC Man rom on XDA a couple of days ago. Haven't tried it yet but I'll probably give it a go over the weekend.

New CROMI-X 5.0.3 is out too.

My tab's wiped and ready for sale or I'd try it. Never have tried a pac man rom tho. I installed a lot of roms when I had a Galaxy Nexus phone but only 2 since I switched to a Note 2 and the pathetic part is I'm running stock rooted now.

I'm not doing much 'better' on my S4. I'm running CleanROM which is just stock de-bloated, and orphaned on top of that. The dev moved on to other things months ago, but I don't have a reason to change ROMs. "just because" doesn't seem to be sufficient reason anymore. :)

No, no there's still a pulse, it's just weak and thready... :)

No more pulse. I'm running the latest Baked ROM and it's much better than even Chromi was. Pretty sure my next tablet won't be a Asus though, unless its the next Nexus.

Baked? From last year?

Try CROMBi-KK with data2SD. My tablet is the smoothest it's ever been.
