Froyo!!!! Around 12:45 am I was web browsing and my phone got an update so I was thinking hmmmm and it dawned to me it was it but my phone needs to charge because it detected my battery was low so now I must wait... Sighhh but none the less im legally 2.2 woooooooooooot!!

Btw im in california socal area.
 
I take it given this is one of the US models there is an OTA (over the air) update facility.

If you've not installed, how are you sure it's 2.2. I know that the Captivate and Fascinate have had firmware updates that aren't 2.2....

Anyway, I'll check Kies.
 
Well find out in about 38 min. It would be ironic how they said october and here we are in the middle of it and I receive a update at 12am?
 
Vibrant != Galaxy S i9000 which is what most people in this forum have I think.

AT&T & Verizon have updated their 2.1 devices over the air with small patches so it seems likely T-Mobile are doing the same thing with the Vibrant. I very much doubt you're getting 2.2 now. Sorry.

The original Galaxy S requires an update from a piece of software called Kies, which doesn't seem to be there.
 
I'm aware there was some suggestion that they were going to try and coordinate the update across networks (i.e. not what HTC do).

Anything you know about that? Or are we likely just seeing unlocked devices getting it first. I guess T-Mobile's protestations that it's coming soon suggest it might be not just unlocked but I trust them almost as little as I trust Samsung :)

The previous release date (Sep) was to include all and this is the state of play for the Oct release.
However...... I wonder if a certain carrier has been holding things up and Samsung have said enough is enough if your not ready you don't join the party...;)
 
I got the update to 2.1 update1 this morning in NJ and the only difference I've found so far is that I now have media hub. Still don't even have the market update yet.
