It's official (for me) ANDROID sucks

All contacts are saved in the Google 'Cloud' sure but anyone with some sense would realize that Google makes it very easy to EXPORT your contacts as a file that can be saved on any laptop, desktop, flash drive, external harddrive etc.... This way if you lose access to your Google account, you still have your contacts :)

I'm sorry that you're having this problem, but the issue isn't with Android. I think it's a bit silly to say an entire OS sucks just because your e-mail account got messed up. Personally, once I figured out what was wrong I wouldn't have bothered with Sprint at all. I would have gone straight to gmail about the issue. I can assure you they can get your password back somehow. Good luck, and try not to be so negative next time if you don't want people to "bash" you.

how is that not an android problem? it requires an email to function

No, it certainly doesn't. It requires an email to sync calendars, contacts, etc. You are by no means forced to use their google account at any time.

Anf FWIW, we are bumping an 8 month old thread. Anyone directing your posts towards the OP, I am thinking he/she is long gone! ;)

I love how this thread is only getting attention because the OP said "Android sucks" That's garan-damn-teed to bring all the android phan-boys out of the woodworks.

In case you did not notice WHEN the thread was created..... it actually got almost NO attention.
There are a lot of people here that simply do not care about what some iFan comes here to say.
I have been to iFan forums.... if there was a similar thread there it would be locked and deleted but before that happened it would be 10 pages long.

On this forum everyone is allowed to speak their mind, within reason.
That is what sets this forum apart from the censored iFan boards.

To see for yourself change your password in your EMAIL account that is tied to the phone and see what happens to the phone. It's a brick that says enter password.

Well damn, I guess my wife's perfectly functioning phone must actually be a brick then. A friend of hers had her facebook hijacked and sent out phishing links. Since my wife had clicked on one of the legitimate-looking links before she knew about her friend's account being compromised she decided to change the passwords on her facebook and the gmail tied to her phone. The phone popped up a notification that sync failed, and then popped up a window asking for a password. She entered the new password and went on using the phone as usual.

The fact that this thread is over 8 months old and has only been brought back by trolls is precisely why it's being closed ;) This thread has outlived its purpose.
