It's Official : Photon has reached EOL

So, I was just looking at the phones online at Sprint.com and the Photon is no longer listed. I was looking for my brother's phone to see the features (EVO 3D which is also absent from the list) and noticed the Photon is no longer there either.

Now, I just got my Photon at the end of March and what I'm wondering is, say something happens where my Photon needs to be replaced through the $8/month insurance I pay on it. This is the first time I've actually gotten the insurance, so I'm not sure how they go about replacing/fixing things. Will Sprint still have any Photons in stock, or do they just get rid of all of them once they've reached end of life?

I really wouldn't want a Samsung to replace my nice Motorola, that would be sacrilege. I'm not too sure about HTC. I guess I would hope for the next Motorola to have been released before something may or may not go wrong with my Photon.

They do keep a small amount of phones that have been refurbished in stock for the event that phones start failing and need replaced. Then yours would be refurbished and put into that stock. As time goes by and less people have a Photon they'll start recycling those photon parts into new phones.
