iTunes Music to Android Device

HPPR

Lurker
I am in the process of acquiring a Samsung Galaxy Note 2. I have never owned a Samsung smartphone. I have an iPod classic that holds all my music. When I backed up the music in my iPod to my PC the songs were all renamed by iTunes into random letters. I backed up the music by going into the iPod's hidden folders and copying it into my PC. I have recently reset my computer to factory settings, therefore I did not install iTunes again.

Questions:

1) Does Samsung have its own media organizer? (Like iTunes)

2) What programs can I use to convert the random letters naming my songs to the songs real names and info?

3) What media organizer works like iTunes and is compatible with Samsung? (I have heard about media monkey)

Any extra info on Samsung Galaxy Note smartphones will be great.

1.) Yes its called Kies. However many people don't want to use it because they don't want to get tied to a manufacturer or prefer other music management software. This is one beauty of using Android. It doesn't care if you want to manage your music using Zune, WinAmp, Windows Media Player, iTunes or whatnot. You can still get the music on the phone whatever media organizer you use. You can still use iTunes, but you'd then be at the mercy of third party sync software for media. It may be a hassle getting it setup at first though since iTunes hates anything non-Apple, but it can be done. If worst comes to worst, you can treat your Android like a flash drive and just copy and paste the music files into the phone's storage.

2.) I personally use Tagscanner, but you can still use iTunes and other music managers as long as you use id3v3 tags.

3.) Lots. Apart from iTunes needing just a third party sync program, I think everything else can work on an Android since you can connect in mass storage/MTP format which every music management software recognizes.

AWESOME!!! Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it. I went ahead an installed tagscanner and it worked perfectly. I might avoid Kies, due to the fact that I don't want to get tied to the manufacturer. For media managing I might try media monkey. Thanks for the review link.

Thanks again.

You may have to have Kies installed for updating of drivers on your PC and software updates for your phone. Just install it and open it when checking for OS updates.
