I've been asked to start an 80s thread...

Thank you. Now please send me your home phone number so I can call you at 3:00 a.m. when I can't sleep for fear of the baby-stealing unicorn. :p

Whatever you do....DON'T scream...or snore..or mumble..or toss and turn...it only makes them even more aggressive...

just lie there very very still..motionless.......
.and I'm sure you'll be just fine!!:D:D

dang it!! now I'm not going to be able to sleep.. ugh.. stupid freaky evil unimancorn thingy:eek:

I once had a pet duocorn. It was pretty nice.

Maybe our old friend, Charlie the Unicorn can help you out here -

See? Unicorn problem all better.

Some people don't like him - shun the non-believers! :)

well ..THAT didn't help at all!!
ok now...I'm fairly certain that Unicorns are evil and creepy:p

I own a Rowe AMI jukebox from '81. Atari playcomputer style. Filled with music from the '60s mainly but also some of the '80s.

Ah...I'm pretty sure that CB was a '70s thing. "Smokey and the Bandit", "Convoy"...all from the mid-'70s.

In the '80s there were beepers!

"Look everybody, I'm a drug dealer!"

I had one where people called an operator who typed in their message. That worked really well:

You say: "Call me immediately on 345 7777"

I see: "Calamity won 3:45. Heaven"

This is me in high school (1981). I was a member of the showcase choir that performed in the central Texas area. We looked good but hated those blue tuxedos.

I don't have any pictures except the ones in my college yearbook, which I no longer have. I have a thing about posting pictures of myself online, anyway.

I never wore anything but jeans and t shirts from about '74 to '82, when I began working for a living and had to get some skirts and dress shoes. I think there was a year in there where I wore nothing but overalls from the Army Navy store, because they're the most comfortable thing you can wear in public without being arrested.

The late 70s and early 80s were by far my favorite era in music.

My 70s clothes were mostly jeans and t shirts too, but slightly more interesting, with fringe and bellbottoms and such.

I found it!! In a box of stuff I'm still unpacking from moving...

so here it is!! wrist corsage and all!:o:o LOL!!!

a promise is a promise after all:rolleyes:

I had a CB in the UK. I'm sure the best era was the late 70s, when it was still illegal in the UK and using radios smuggled in from the US. 1981 CB was legalised, all the children got CBs for Christmas, which very much ruined it for all the serious users, with all the mic keyers, music players and bucket mouths(swearing and abuse)....and then that was the end of that craze. ...think BMX was the next big craze after that in the UK, possibly because of E.T.? ...and home computers as well, especially when the Sinclair ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 came out.

BTW I made a couple of very good friends via CB, and we're still friends now. :)

I'll have to ask my parents if they have any 80s pics of me...

...as for CBs, they were popular here from the mid seventies, than became legal in the early eighties or so which signalled the end of their popularity. I remeber sitting in my car on the top of a headland overlooking the ocean trying for skip. Happened occasionally, but not often.
