Root I've got a question about being rooted and system update?? Need Help

Hello everyone.... I have a question about my Boost Prevail phone being rooted. I've just got a Notification for a system update available (FA19 Bug Fix Release). Here is what my phone is running ...

  1. Phone is rooted
  2. Android Version (2.3.6)
  3. Kernel Version ( 2.6.35.7)
  4. Build Number ( CTMod 3.1)
  5. ClockWorkMod (v5.0.2.7)
So my question is... If I do the update will that mess up my phone in anyway?? :confused:..:confused:..:confused: :) ---Thank you for the help---:)

dont do the update ota..either use koumas fa19 image with cwm and root already installed..or stay where your at and disable the update..or revert back to ej06 install ctmod 3.2 which already has the update disabled
 
technically im not all the way sure because it is the fa19 bug fix..and not the actual fa19 update..i never got the bug fix so i cant be sure..but i do know being rooted or modded and accepting any ota can spell trouble

Hello Newbie here! My phone was rooted by a friend same boost mobile prevail. My phone runs:
Model: SPH-M820-BST
VERSION: 2.3.5
BASEBAND: S:M820.07 x.EJ06
KERNEL: 2.6.35.7
CTMOD: 2.4
HARDWARE M820.07
Iwas wondering if you could help explain how to update my phone to match yours or if its not needed. Also wats the clockwork mod?

If you update to CTMod 3.2 , it blocks the update . You can install the update via the Odin thread if you want .

hey i'm not really that tech savvy but i've rooted my phone a couple of times. i just got a system update notice and i clicked ok. stupid me now i'm having all kinds of problems. the phone is no longer rooted and i've tried reverting it but it's not working. pls can anyone help?

android version 2.3.6
baseband version s:m820.07 x.fa19
kernal version 2.6.35.7
build number gingerbread.fa19

send the phone back to samsung and see if they would replace that phone. That update should never being let out of the bag.

Not really sure if im doing the ctmod update correctly. I had made multiple backups using Tb and CWM. However, when i hit restore in cwm i end up with the old ctmod 2.4 with my app. Can you explain what is going wrong?

Also, i end up seeing the text sd/ ext skip while applying the update. Do you have any idea what that means?
 
You're restoring an old backup of 2.4 sounds like . As for the update , I never received it OTA so I can't answer that .
