We are looking for an innovative, highly-motivated individual to lead the development of java applications that redefine excellence in their category. The first objective is to develop Android versions of our multilingual dictionary & phrase book applications that become best-sellers. Upon achieving this goal, you will have substantial influence on how the position evolves.
The person selected for this position will work directly with the founder & CEO of Ascendo, Marc Bolh.
The primary criteria are passion for the mobile industry and strong motivation to create category leading apps. Skills required to excel in this position include exceptional coding ability in Java, database design and aptitude to deliver apps with outstanding usability. Relevant skills may include web site development (MySQL, pHp, Ajax, JavaScript) as we plan to create web extensions with apps. Experiences in similar areas such as C+, C#, J2EE and that show the ability to learn required skills quickly will be taken into consideration.
This position is off-site and requires a computer and fast internet connection. Access to mobile devices is a plus. We are open to candidates regardless of location, age & special circumstance as long as they can demonstrate their capacity for hard work, persistence and unrelenting drive to be the best at what they do.
Ideally, we would like to start with a time commitment of between 10 and 20 hours per week evolving to full-time within 3 months. We are open to working with freelancers & moonlighters who are motivated to grow the position.
Remuneration for the initial project will be an hourly rate commensurate with contribution level and a substantial monthly bonus based on performance. Full-time partners are eligible for profit sharing.
