Apps Javascript problem on Android

RAC132

Lurker
Hi folks,

I've just bought an Android tablet (Flytouch 3), and I'm developing an HTML document to run locally on it. When I've ironed out the bugs/layout, then this document will form the basis for 30-40 sets of notes. So I WANT this to work.

But... I can develop on the PC no problem, with Javascript controlling what I toggle visible/not. But when I transfer the file to my Android device, the Javascript acts like it's not there. Even a basic Alert() on loading the file does not appear.

Is there a problem with Android (security?) on local files using Javascript? Does anyone have a way of dealing with it?

(I've tried viewing the HTML file in "HTML Viewer", "DB Browser", and "Dolphin Browser". I have "Opera Mini" on the machine, but that insists on a URL to browse rather than a file. All with the same failure to execute any local-Javascript.)

Can anyone help please? Otherwise, this Android device is a complete waste of time and money.

Thanks,
RAC
