Help JB wont see music on SD card

after OTA update, JB will not see my music on the SD card. when i try to load files JB wants me to copy them from my computer to my phones memory.

is copying all music files to music folder on the phone the only way? why cant i just get the music app to see my music on the SD card?

make sure it's looking in the right place. JB renamed the SD card location from SDCard-EXT to SDCard1. names might not be exact, but i had the problem as well with some app or another and that was the solution.

Not sure y ur having this issue,I had 434 songs on my SD card in my music when upgraded from ICS to JB,and had 434 songs in Google play music after upgrade,so ALL my music on my SD card transferred over just fine

i managed to get "music app" to see the music folder somehow but when i select something to play i get a "unable to play" message.

to help me during the meantime i downloaded WinAmp which is probably what i will end up using,

i just want to see a list then play the music. iam not looking to become a power user of anything lately.

ok, i fixed it !!! dont really know the exact fix but after clearing music player cache , removing the SD card with power on, then plugging SD card back in,
the music program re-scanned the SD card.

I searched google and found a couple of fixes then applied a couple, but the main thing is to force JB to rescan the SD card.
