JCSullin's Touchpad Toolbox (DataMedia)

colchiro

Extreme Android User
TPToolbox replaces:
  • ACMEInstallers
  • ACMEUninstallers
  • Various methods of resizing volumes (erroneously called partitions)
  • Various methods of reflashing the A6 battery monitoring chip
  • Various methods of completely wiping/recreating volumes

TPToolbox adds:
  • A straightforward, reliable and easy-to-use method of installing the current (i.e. KitKat/Datamedia) versions of Android on the Touchpad.
  • The ability to completely remove webOS.
User Interface
As the toolbox name implies, there are several tools in tptoolbox. These tools are accessible via a menu-driven interface:

Sorry, haven't installed yet, but it looks promising. :D

Last I heard, there was no way to re-add webOS tho. :D

How's that? Below from Sullin's new thread:

Create webOS Volumes

If you want to re-install webOS following a "Full Data Reset," you will need to run this prior to running webOS doctor.
At this time, re-installing webOS should only be done prior to installing Android. Tools to assist re-installing webOS after Android has been installed (without detriment to the Android install) may be provided in the future.

Post #5:

Limitations

  • This thread
  • Only Touchpad Wifi supported (not 4G) at this time
  • Support for non-KitKat/DataMedia installs very limited for now
  • Re-install of webOS after Android installed is not supported yet
  • Method for permanently installing TPToolbox (always available via moboot) not available yet

Obviously I missed the rest tho... :D

After installing toolbox, got the display as expected.
But it does NOT response on volume up/down key - no navigation I can do.
I can only reboot it.
Tried again, had the same problem.
So, I can't install
How to fix it?

Thank you very much!

So I downloaded all the files that I need and start with a fully charged touchpad. I currently am running an older version of android on it with webos, but decided since I have not used webos in over 2 years, why not wipe it clean, install a new version of android and just leave off webos.

Now with everything in place, I connect the touchpad in recovery mode, start touchpad toolbox, i see the commands scroll on the touchpad screen for maybe 1 or 2 seconds and it then just reboots itself. Am I missing something or is this just not working?

I even thought maybe I was running low on storage and did a factory reset of android to wipe everything that was installed off with no luck.

I just want to wipe this clean and do a fresh install of kitkat or whatever. dont need anything else on it, dont even need the multiboot. Any recommendations out there?????
