Help Jelly Bean 4.1.2 problems on Three

poi0

Lurker
My S2 is on Three, an unlocked phone with a sim only contract.

I got the OTA update to JB 4.1.2 two days ago.

Not liking what it's done to my phone.

Everything is slower.
The battery is draining faster.
Firefox shortcuts that I have on home screens are deleted every time the phone reboots.
Setting Firefox as my default browser for when I click links in email etc is similarly deleted on reboot.
Google Play Music keeps starting in the background.

Any fixes short of a factory reset?

Hello and welcome to Android Forums poi0! :)

That last sentence in your post narrows down the options a bit I'm afraid as that is why Factory Reset is there in Android.

You could vhave a corrupt OTA download which is not unheard of. Therefore you could try re-downloading the firmware for your CSC code and flashing it via Odin as described in the step-by-step guide and video in the link in #1.7 of the Jelly Bean update - Dummies Guide.

Failing that... there's the Firmware update problems... what you can do!.
