I think you mean when you were on 4.0.4 (ICS) it was great and there are problems since you went to 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean).
I know of no way to revert to 4.0.4.
Did you do a Factory Data Reset after upgrading to 4.1.2? It really is needed. There are (in my opinion) a number of new issues with 4.1.2.
The one thing 4.1.2 has going for it is that after you do the Factory Data Reset and run into problems you can run in Safe Mode to help diagnose the cause.
