i put jelly bean on my s3 last night since last night my battery drains heaps quickly what can I do to fix the battery drain

I noticed that some of the settings for sync of email had changed after the update, as well as other battery hogs I had previously turned off. I am still looking to see what else is using the battery. It sures is dropping like a brick.

Mine was horrible the first day, I figured it out though, mine was because my Lookout app was rescanning all of my apps, Day two battery is better than ever. Do you have a anti-virus app? If so it could be that.

See, if you are having the Verizon Galaxy S3 then the main culprit of the issue is the Media Storage and Downloads 4.1.1 folder. As written here How To Fix The Battery Draining Issue on Verizon Galaxy S3 After Jelly Bean Update and here Fix Battery Drain on Verizon Galaxy S3 on Jelly Bean update .... I would recommend you to check out any of these guides on the web, and your issue will be surely fixed.

If you still face any problem, do let me know.. I will try to help you out.. hit me a PM.

Edit: I saw a thread regarding the battery drain problem in S3, Check it here: http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga...alse-cell-standby-report-2-standby-drain.html

I did this a few days ago and my battery life has never been better.

Rooted, updated to Jelly Bean, then installed Rom Manager to instal ClockworkMod Recovery using this:

ROOT without Tripping Flash Counter

this was super easy.

then i de-bloated my phone doing this.

De-Bloater Utility

so far phone is running silky smooth and battery life is MUCH better as well. not really sure what made the batter life better but it lasts over 8 hours of use and it has never lasted this long.

Chances are, it's Google Now. That's the culprit on mine. When I disable it, battery life returns to normal. I enabled it again 2 days ago, and battery life is once again dismal.
