Root jelly bean is here

Don't get too excited, it's just a preview ROM and needs some more development to get it running correctly BUT for a preview ROM, I must say that it is very nice!
 
Jelly Bean is here - please excuse the ignorance as I am not tech literate. Heard of Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich. What will this do? Are there bugs? Can and should one upgrade? If so, how? Many thanks indeed.

Android 4.1 AKA Jelly Bean is the latest production release of Android. You can learn more about the new features it brings here

Android - What's New

I would advise that you do not upgrade to Cyanogenmod 10 (a custom Jelly Bean ROM) which this thread is about as it is not yet ready for use on a production phone (i.e. a phone which should be stable).
