DROID RAZR HD & DROID RAZR MAXX HD upgrading to Jelly Bean beginning next week. bit.ly/S5BBm2

Let's hope so!

BTW the docs say it's limited phones, staged over weeks.

Why hasn't this OTA file leaked yet?

It's just like the old leak IMHO. Smooth and snappy. If it's like the older one, battery life should be better in my mind's eye.

Will Verizon start shipping new Razr HD and Maxx HD's with Jelly Bean already installed after the OTA update is released?

Even if Motorola does start installing JB in the phones they are building now, I'm sure there are 10s of thousands of Razr HD's and Maxx HDs already in the supply pipeline that still have ICS as its OS.

But my guess is they will continue to install ICS at the manufacturing facility and let the OTA upgrade system handle the upgrade to JB. :smokingsomb:

Did you install it over the old JB? I believe you had that installed. Or did you fastboot and do a fresh install?

You should be 100% stock.

My phone was never modded (this one, not even rooted). Take the small update if you are fresh.

Root and use Superuser to backup, update Superuser the one with the android with eye patch icon, and voodoo remove the regular root (what I did). I did not reboot, but I do have qe 1/1 with no active root, bummer.

Boot into recovery, and flash it.... it sticks at about 1/2 bar for a long time, be patient, you will freak out during this :D

Root recovery worked for me, but there's reports that it didn't work with some other people.

Recover root, and it should work fine

Oh ok, damn I was hoping I could install it over my JB leak installation thats already in my stock rom slot. Guess I'll wait to see if someone else tries that first, I really don't want to have to set my phone up all over again haha. Thanks though, it's good to see that the root recovery method still works!

Yup, I hear you!

I just rely on my txt for backup, don't care about other apps and stuff like a lot of people. Follow the droidrzr forums, there is an active thread there. Earlier today, didn't even see a thread on xda.

Just try it, lol! I doubt it will work unless you are stock with the small ota. :D:D

Yeah I just checked the DroidRZR thread on it. So installing it over the leak won't work. Good thing SafeStrap still installs though. I'll be annoyed if the real OTA is a different version though haha. Guess I'll get on it right now, here we go!
