Jelly Bean & Nova question (Grey>Black notification bar)

I noticed that when I installed Jelly Bean my notification bar went grey. Then I installed Nova, and it turned black.

If you use Nova on Jelly Bean on an S3, what colour is your notification bar?

The dev has been really helpful/communicative but tells me that Nova does not do this, though it happened at install and I can't think what else may be responsible for this (good, in my opinion!) change to the notification bar.

what is this grey notification bar??? I've never seen it! Mine was black on ICS, is black on JB. I use nova but its black on touchwiz too. Is it a bug? I find it hard to believe it would change to grey, I've never seen that on any android phone

There are one or two comments there (aside from mine) showing users with Nova where it stays black.
