Jellybean FINALLY available on O2 in the UK

Been waiting for this for what feels like an AGE after getting the 'unfortunately the Samsung MAP Service stopped' error since before Xmas after ICS upgrade (didn't do a full factory reset and wipe mind) and being too afraid to root whilst my phone is still (just) in warranty. With about a months warranty left to play for I shall now do the full wipe and look forward to my first taste of JellyBean. I for one do not plan on jumping the good ship SGSII for a SGS4 for some time... I think there is life in this old dog yet and I don't see any game changers on the SGS4 that warrant the hike in contract price etc.

ONWARDS, lets have a bit of the Jelly Bean goodness!

Arrrrggghhhh! The update bricked my phone! Serious. I did a factory reset and wipe of both internal and external storage and it worked a treat, lasted about two hours, installed all my apps and after a reboot it just died. Stays at the SGSII logo at startup and will go no further. Think I've got about a month of warranty left on it though, so glad I didn't root it now.

Any ideas on a quick solution please?

If not it will go back to the O2 shop today!

First and foremost... your phone is not, "bricked"!

Bricked is a term used when describing a phone that will not even turn on.

Try the recovery options in post #1, here. Failing that, you can re-flash your firmware for O2, using Odin, as described in #1.7, here.
